From 2021 a new exciting town centre will begin to be delivered, with something to discover for everyone.
Our vision for the town centre is to create a bold and inviting destination that welcomes innovation and inclusion and embraces its local heritage and natural environment. Elements of the town centre are already starting to take shape with the recent opening of the Everyone Active leisure centre with six-lane swimming pool and fitness centre, as well as the construction of a new market and local hub called The Shed.
And there’s even more to come; there’ll be the entertainment and retail at the site of what was once the Sergeants Mess, a drive-in cinema at the Sandhurst Block, and further leisure, health and retail services and offers in the pipeline. There will be new shops, cafes, office space, landscaped squares and a park, ensuring that the town centre will be a place not just to shop and eat, but a place to meet and spend some time.
The new town centre will be at the heart of the transformation of Whitehill & Bordon as a sustainable green, healthy and connected town. It will be a place to be immersed in retail, leisure and wellbeing amenities, as well as offering 150 hectares of green space at Hogmoor Inclosure and Bordon Inclosure. Getting in and out of the town centre will be easy too with enhanced transport options to surrounding areas. New roads will and car parking will be integral to this with spaces designed into the new buildings. Please click here for more details about the plans and what’s on offer.
The new market in Whitehill & Bordon town centre, is due to open in Easter 2021.
The Shed will be a unique, authentic shared experience in Whitehill & Bordon, offering artisan treats, home-cooked meals, arts & crafts, creative workspaces and the best local entertainment. The Shed is already packed with an amazing array of local businesses and offers.
Already signed up is a juice bar called The Mixing Jug, Thai and Japanese cuisine from Suam Oishi, a bike sale and hire shop Cycle Sphere, an arts & crafts store called Crafty Shed, locally churned desserts from Dylan’s Ice Cream and Mexican street food from Hermanos. On top of that, there’ll be an artisan brewery, a deli shop and a burger joint.
Are you a local business?
We can help you grow your business at The Shed. Promising produce? Do you make and create? Are you made for the stage? Share your wares (and your flair) by taking up space with us.
Units are filling up, and we already have a great line-up of local businesses on our books, but there’s space for even more.
We are still looking for other special tenants to add into the mix. If you can’t commit long term, we’re also on the lookout for pop-ups to join us at our regular farmers, produce and craft markets.
Plant your roots at The Shed and watch them grow.
