Talented Artist Wanted for Tank Bollard Art Competition
The Whitehill & Bordon Regeneration Company (WBRC) is seeking a talented art student or artist to paint a set of tank bollards at Hogmoor Inclosure, utilising designs created by local schoolchildren.
The pupils from Bordon Infant School, Weyford Primary School and Mill Chase School took part in a competition to produce and submit artwork that commemorates Bordon’s military history and highlights the relevance of the Inclosure to the community today. Selected designs were shortlisted by a committee and will now be painted on the tank bollards.
WBRC is in search of a talented art student or artist to undertake the recreation of the designs.
Naomi Metcalfe, Community Development Officer for the Whitehill & Bordon Regeneration Company, said:
“This is a fantastic opportunity to paint a piece of the town’s history. The military is a major part of Whitehill & Bordon’s heritage and we want to mark this by painting the former tank bollards with designs created by the next generation that not only recognise the town’s heritage but also look to the future. The artists’ work will be seen by the users of Hogmoor Inclosure for years to come and we’d like to congratulate all students whose work was shortlisted.”
The shortlisted students include: Lillie Lorimer (Mill Chase), Lucy Whitlock (Mill Chase), Blake Warren (Mill Chase), Kira Smith (Mill Chase), Alex Ward (Mill Chase), Millie-Jo Lenthall (Mill Chase), Evie Morgan (Weyford Primary), Erin Morgan (Weyford Primary), Joshua Anscomb (Weyford Primary), Bailey Cox (Weyford Primary), Nicole Ojacastro (Weyford Primary), Max Fenelli (Weyford Primary), Summer Cowley (Weyford Primary), Lily Gaints (Weyford Primary), Catissa Nobleza (Weyford Primary), Alfie Sherell (Weyford Primary), Emily Wadhams (Bordon Infant’s School), Rachel White (Bordon Infant), Amber Glaysher (Bordon Infant), Olivia Sarnecka (Bordon Infant), Vasil Youchev (Bordon Infant), Tommy Keet (Bordon Infant).
