What’s On: School Summer Holidays in
Prince Philip Park
School’s out and the summer is here! It’s a wonderful time of year and one the kids have been looking forward to since Christmas! But it can also be a tricky few weeks for parents who need to juggle work with child care and keeping their kids happy, entertained, and active.
We hope this round up of everything happening in Prince Philip Park and the wider Whitehill & Bordon area will help you find all sorts of great sessions and activities for your kids to enjoy during the holidays from fun for all the family to safe and engaging youth groups to keep the kids occupied while parents are busy at work.
Summer Sessions @ Building94
Every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday throughout the summer, the newly-opened Building94 is running kids activity sessions between 10am-4pm. All kids aged 11-16 are welcome and free places are available.
Activities include graffiti painting, boxing sessions, and pottery classes. There are pools tables, air hockey, and an outdoor space where kids can relax and socialise throughout the summer.
Food is provided for those kids who have their places funded.

Drop-in youth cafe
On Monday’s, 5pm-7pm, Cafe Hogmoor is opening its doors to kids aged 11-16 as a place to drop-in and just relax. This isn’t a youth club, it’s simply a safe, friendly space for kids to come by and hangout. A perfect opportunity to chat, play games, and enjoy the warm summer evenings.

Bug Hunt
Come by Beehive in Hogmoor Inclosure on Thursday 4th August, 10am-12pm, and join the hunt to find all of the many different types of bug that live on the land. It’s completely FREE.

Hogmoor Inclosure Park Run
Every Saturday morning at 9am, there is a free, fun, and friendly weekly 5k community event in Hogmoor Inclosure. Walk, jog, run, or simply spectate – it’s up to you! The whole event is organised by volunteers, so if you’d like to help out, please do get in touch via [email protected].



Play areas in Whitehill & Bordon
As well as the playground at The BOSC, Whitehill & Bordon also has wonderful kids play areas in Hogmoor Inclosure, Whitehill Chase, The Shed, and the youth hub.
There is also the ever popular skatepark on Budds Lane and a basketball half court at Mill Chase.
Lunch with a Superhero!
On Wednesday 3rd August, 12pm-2pm, you can have lunch with a Superhero at The Shed! Spin, jump and save the world with Spiderman and Batman! Dressing up is not essential but highly recommended. Ticket price Includes a themed packed lunch, so please let us know whether you would like ham or cheese sandwiches in the ‘additional information box’ when completing your booking. Have lunch with a princess!
On Wednesday 17th August, 12pm -2pm, you can have lunch with a princess at The Shed.
Be entertained, sing along, and meet Ariel, Rapunzel, and Moana. Dress-up optional, but highly recommended!
Ticket price includes a themed packed lunch, so please include whether you would like ham or cheese sandwiches in the ‘additional information box’ when completing your booking.

Summer holidays at The BOSC
The BOSC has lots to offer kids and families throughout the summer holidays. There is a great playground complete with swings and slides, outdoor tennis courts that can be booked by the hour, or you could try your hand at Petanque, a fun boules game originating in France. There will also be regular cricket matches taking place throughout the summer as Headley Cricket Club celebrates its 150th year. The seniors team practices on Wednesday & Thursday evenings and the juniors practice on Friday evenings. The team is always looking for new players, or you can just come along and enjoy an afternoon of great, local cricket.

Free Punch & Judy Show
On 10th August, get down to The Shed to enjoy a free performance of the ever-popular Punch & Judy show.
Performances are at 12pm and 1pm, so grab some lunch, sit out in the sunshine and enjoy the show! Maybe even bring the kids too if you want!

Duck Race!
On Friday 12th August, the Deadwater Valley Trust hosts the much-loved Duck Race in the Deadwater Valley Nature Reserve. Starts at 11am, ducks are £2 each and tickets are available through the website.

Bug and Reptile Hunt
On Thursday 11th August, head to Honeypin Orchard at 10am to join in the great bug and reptile hunt, searching for and identifying all of the wonderful creatures that live in your local nature reserve.

Bear Hunt and Teddy Bears Picnic
On Thursday 18th August, 10:30am-12:30pm, bring your favourite bear and a picnic to Bordon Inclosure for a very special mission. Follow the trail from Bordon Inclosure car park and discover the secrets waiting inside. If you go down to the woods today….
Kids boxing and kickboxing classes
Kids aged 5 to 17 can learn boxing and kickboxing skills throughout the summer at Mercer’s Gym on Budds Lane. The perfect opportunity to get some exercise, learn the basics of a new sport, and enjoy getting to know some new people.
Kids classes are for 5-11 year olds. Teen classes are for 12-17 year olds.
Boxing is on Wednesdays at 4pm and Saturdays at 10am.
Kickboxing is on Mondays at 4pm and Saturdays at 11:15am.
Mr Giant Circus Skills
On 27th July, 12pm-2pm, come down to The Shed and enjoy 2 hours of circus fun with Mr. Giant, learning some of his best circus skills. Beat those summer holiday blues and learn something new too! It’s completely FREE.



Swim, cycle, and win prizes at Whitehill & Bordon Leisure Centre
Cool down on the hot days and take shelter when it rains. The leisure centre is a brilliant resource during the school holidays. There is swimming, cycling, and fitness classes available for all.
Throughout August, the leisure centre is holding a competition to get families active. Everyone who gets involved is entered into a prize draw for a whole bundle of great prizes!
Secrets of the Heath
On 10th and 11th of September, you’re invited to visit the Hogmoor Inclosure and celebrate the history and wildlife of our amazing heaths. It’s great fun for all the family,
Between 11am-4pm on both days there will be everything from battle re-enactments, a chance to get up close and personal with the local reptile population, folk story readings, a heathland bug hunt, face painting, and craft activities.
This is a completely FREE event.
