REME take on Headley in thrilling cricket match
A REME cricket team took on Headley Cricket Club in a thrilling game at the Bordon and Oakhanger Cricket Club earlier this month, which saw the REME team win by 10 runs.
The REME team batted first and were hit by a fine opening spell by bowler Matt Hall, which brought three wickets. Two wickets then fell in quick succession to Craig Johnson, which saw REME on 90 for 7. The REME tail dug deep and pulled of a spectacular finish the add a further 79 runs to their total, leaving Headley with a target of 170.
Headley took to the pitch but couldn’t live up to the bowling display of opener Jay Boynton, who bowled eight overs for just seven runs. Headley made up some ground but were unable to reach the 170 targets, and they finished on 159 for 9.
An excellent day was had by all who participated in the game and spectated, with Matt Hall was named man of the match. Headley Cricket Club are looking forward to the 2020 season at BOSC.
