Nightflix opens drive-in cinema in town centre
Whitehill & Bordon Regeneration Company is excited to announce that drive-in cinema specialist Nightflix is opening a site at the heart of Whitehill & Bordon in July.
The drive-in cinema will launch with screenings of Mamma Mia and Grease at an opening night on Thursday 15 July. The films will be shown at 6pm and 9pm respectively. A delicious range of refreshments will be available to cinema-goers courtesy of the brilliant vendors at The Shed.
Gates open an hour before each film giving ticket holders time to grab a bite to eat and drink before settling down to enjoy these family classics. Don’t forget to don your best fancy dress for what will be a brilliant evening of entertainment.
The site has capacity for 88 vehicles, and will run year round offering immersive and accessible viewing of everything from cult classics to the latest blockbusters. Screenings will take place twice per day, seven days a week.
The drive-in cinema is situated in the heart of the town in front of the Sandhurst Block, the former main battalion building. The building is currently in the throes of being dressed in an art installation consisting of 50 panels designed by the local community and artist Shiraaz Ali. Due to be completed by the start of July, the Sandhurst Block with original clock tower, provides a striking backdrop to the silver screen.
This part of the town centre is set to become an arts, culture and leisure destination in Hampshire, sitting alongside a heritage centre, arts and culture hub, a hotel, and a range of restaurants and cafes. The site is already home to The Shed, an immersive marketplace with regional artisan food and drink producers and arts and crafts outlets, the Everyone Active leisure centre, and town park.

James Child, Project Lead, Whitehill & Bordon Regeneration Company, said: “We are very excited about the launch of this drive-in cinema in the centre of the town. Nightflix is one of the country’s leading drive-in cinema operators using the latest technology to provide an immersive cinema experience. We look forward to the opening night and seeing residents and those in the surrounding areas coming to the town centre to enjoy a brilliant range of films.”
Nightflix CEO Ben Stonehouse says: “It’s an honour to be able to bring the uniqueness of a drive-in to another site, and one which is set to be a real focal point for this brand-new town development. Drive-ins have cemented their place in people’s hearts over the past year and Nightflix is exceptionally proud to be making this a part of the Whitehill & Bordon new town development for future generations to enjoy and share with families and friends.”
