Junior football team thrilled with new kit sponsorship
Whitehill & Bordon’s Prosper Raiders Under-10s football team has received sponsorship from Prince Philip Park to fund new team match kits and training equipment.
Prosper Raiders compete in the North East Hants Youth League and play their home games at The BOSC in Whitehill & Bordon. The team is managed and coached by Dave Goodyear and Nico Lopez who have used the £1,000 sponsorship from Prince Philip Park, the new town and community being developed by the Whitehill & Bordon Regeneration Company (WBRC), to purchase new match kits for the squad as well as essential training equipment.
Having managed to keep details about the kit secret from the young team, there was an explosion of excitement when Dave and Nico finally revealed the home and away Nike strips; one turquoise-on-white, the other navy blue-on-yellow, both complete with team logo and Prince Philip Park shirt sponsor.
After forming last year, The Prosper Raiders have just completed their first season of competitive league matches (at Under-9s level) and, this summer, will be playing in a number of regional tournaments before kicking off their Under-10s season in September.

The Under-9s and Under-10s are always looking for new players and hoping to expand into different age groups if enough players join the team. The squad trains every Wednesday evening at The BOSC and matches are played on Saturday mornings. All are welcome.
If anyone is interested in further supporting or sponsoring the team, they can contact Dave Goodyear on 07769704249.
As well as hosting junior and senior football matches, The BOSC is also home to Headley Cricket Club. Everyone in the community is encouraged to come down and support the local sports teams while enjoying some of the delicious food and drink served in the newly extended restaurant overlooking the pitch.
Dave Goodyear, Manager of Prosper Raiders Under-9s, said:
“The kids were so excited to see their brilliant new kits and thoroughly enjoyed modelling them for the photos. We’re all thrilled. The kit will get its first run out during our tournaments this summer and we’ll try our best to get them good and muddy and, who knows, maybe bring home some silverware at the same time!
“I, alongside all of The Raiders and their families, would like to thank WBRC and everyone else involved in making this sponsorship possible, it’s already making a huge difference for our young players.
“If anyone is interested in playing for the The Raiders, please don’t hesitate to come along to a Wednesday training session and try it out. All ability levels are welcome, just make sure you’re ready to have some fun and do plenty of running around!”
James Child, Project Lead at The Whitehill & Bordon Regeneration Company, said:
“We’re delighted to support the Prosper Raiders. It’s community groups and teams like this that make Whitehill & Bordon such a great and rewarding place to live. We’re proud to have Prince Philip Park emblazoned on their kits, and wish the team every success in their upcoming tournaments and next season’s Under-10s league.”
