Community invited to attend lantern making and light party events
The Whitehill & Bordon Regeneration Company, in association with Beacon Church, are hosting a lantern making and subsequent light party event for all local residents to attend this month.
On Monday 22 October, 2pm – 4pm, at The Bordon and Oakhanger Sports Club, there will be a lantern making event. The lanterns are £2 each and will be shared by families or small groups who can construct a personalised lantern in preparation for the following light party. Pre-booking and pre-payment are essential, as spaces are very limited.
On Thursday 25 October, 6pm – 7pm, a free-to-attend light party, including a lantern parade, will be held at The Bordon and Oakhanger Sports Club. Family fun and games will also take place. Children aged 12 or under must be accompanied by an adult. Individuals that did not make a lantern are recommended to bring a torch.
The Bordon and Oakhanger Sports Club can be found at Bolley Avenue, Whitehill & Bordon, Hampshire, GU35 9HG.
Naomi Metcalfe, community development officer at The Whitehill & Bordon Regeneration Company, said: “It is great to be partnering with the Beacon Church on these exciting events that will ring in the changing of the seasons, and allow families and young people to get creative with their lanterns. We hope to see many residents join us at BOSC.”
